We're a small hospitality team looking after a handful of restored buildings and a campground in the pines — and as we grow, we're always glad to meet people who take care in their work.

Perry City Manors is run by the two people who restored it — Shona and Lex — and kept running by a small crew who turn the houses over, keep the grounds, and hang the tents each spring. There's no manager between you and us: you'll know us, we'll know you, and when you do a job well, we're the ones who notice. We work hard at being fair, kind and respectful with everyone on the team, because that's the only way a small crew stays a good one.
We also manage homes for other owners around the Finger Lakes, so the work — and the team — keeps growing.
The Work
What our days actually look like
- Housekeeping & turnovers
- The heart of it: preparing each place between guests — sweeping, mopping, dusting and vacuuming; laundry, fresh linens, restocking; flagging anything that needs repair. The rhythm follows the booking calendar: consistent cleanings through the week and on weekends in spring, summer and fall, with reduced but steady work through winter. Bookings shift, so dependability on short notice is worth more to us than almost anything — and if you have the eye but not the résumé, we're happy to train the right person.
- Grounds & upkeep
- Mowing the lawns, keeping the trails clear, tending fire pits, and the handywork and repairs that keep old buildings feeling loved — from a sticking door to a porch board that's seen enough winters. Good work for someone handy who likes being outdoors and seeing the results of a day.
- Seasonal camp work
- Each spring the tree tents at Camp SkyTent go up; each fall they come down. In between, the camp needs the same care as the houses — a distinctive kind of work in a genuinely beautiful stand of pines.
What to Expect
Plain dealing, both directions.
Fair, competitive hourly pay, discussed plainly in the first conversation. Real flexibility where the calendar allows it, and honesty where it doesn't. Training on how we do things, and respect for the ways you do things better. And the workplaces themselves are part of the deal — a rustic renovated barn, a cozy farmhouse, a historic village house, a campground in the pines. We hold a high standard — our guests rate us 4.9 across eleven years — and we hold it by treating the people who do the work well.
What we look for is simple: reliability, care in the details, and pride in leaving a place better than you found it. Experience helps; character matters more.
